So many times we wonder why it is that we can go to a service and feel free and then leave and go right back in to bondage. That’s because the difference between freedom and victory is that freedom is temporary. Just because you are free doesn’t mean that you can’t be led back in to bondage. However, victory is permanent. Once you’ve won you’ve won and there’s no going back. We feel free during service because of 2 Corinthians 3:17:
“For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
2 Corinthians 3:17 NLT
However, just going to service on Sundays and Wednesdays isn’t good enough. If we want to see victory then what we do in the private place matters more than anything. It’s the time that we spend worshiping and praising the Lord every day that matters.
In 2 Chronicles 20 we see the story of Jehoshaphat who was the King of Israel. There were many kingdoms joining together against the Israelites and Jehoshaphat asked the Lord what to do. The Lord told him that the battle was not his to fight but the Lord’s. Jehoshaphat sent the worshippers out on the front lines to worship the Lord during the battle. Jehoshaphat and the Israelites did not even have to lift a sword. The Lord won the battle for them. The Bible says that the victory is the Lord’s. When we stop fighting and start worshiping and praising God for the victory, big things happen. We start to see results. God has given us the victory. All we have to do is praise him for it.
